A resource center for the department’s natural heritage and space to share experiences and debates, the Observatoire Départemental de la Biodiversité Urbaine (ODBU) is also a tool to help make land-use decisions.
The Observatory has taken as a priority to facilitate access for everyone, and particularly for Seine-Saint-Denis inhabitants, to information about biodiversity. It aims to create the conditions for better appropriation of preservation-related stakes.
The creation of ODBU in April 2005 is the expression of the will of the Department, of scientists and associations, as well as townships and grouped townships, but also of planners, to develop collectives elaborating methods that involve citizens into promoting and preserving biodiversity.
A Charter defines ODBU’s missions, organization and functioning as well as the guidelines for disseminating and accessing data.
