A new area for culture and relaxation in Seine-Saint-Denis !

After being restored, the Haute Ile site in Neuilly-sur-Marne will house a new type of regional park : a world that is an ideal change of scenery and a place in which to discover the wildlife and flora found in wet environments. Located close to the Marne, this park will be inspired by the natural landscapes of alluvial areas. You will be able to observe the effects of fluctuating water levels on landscape and an outstanding biological diversity generated by the recreation of a currently endangered ecosystem (120 species of birds expected and 80 plant species replanted).

By extending the old gutters of the Marne the project aims to recreate the wetland left behind by the river over the years, as its bed changed. The work will not prevent the flow of floodwaters and will even provide extra storage capacities on the site.

To conduct this project, the Direction des Espaces Verts of the Department has joined forces with two major associations : the LPO (Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux - Bird Protection Society) and the CORIF (Centre Ornithologique d'Ile-de-France - Bird Centre) as well as the National Natural History Museum and a team of contractors led by the landscape architect Alain Provost.

This project is the result of an exemplary joint effort between local representatives of the Department and towns, representatives of associations and the inhabitants, the future users of the park.

The workshops that are open to all willing participants will continue to be run while the work is in progress so as to monitor the works, provide feedback, suggestions or proposals for changes to really meet the expectations of users.
